Description: Among Islamic cities or medinas, Kasbah is a unique example. Standing on an exquisite coastal site on the Mediterranean it holds a view of the Carthaginian Island trading-post which was established in the 4th century BC. Its ingrained sense of community is associated with the remains of the traditional urban structure along with the remnants of citadels, old mosques and Ottoman-style palaces. --WHMNet paraphrase from the description at WHC Site, where additional information is available.
