Description: The national park is situated at the southern end of the great expanse of Lake Malawi. Its bottomless, clear waters and mountain backdrop house many hundreds of fish species, nearly all endemic. Within the study of evolution this significant site is comparable to that of the Galapagos Island finches. --WHMNet paraphrase from the description at WHC Site, where additional information is available.
