Clicked in the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. The Malabar Barbet (megalaima malabarica) is a small barbet found in the Western Ghats of India. It was formerly treated as a race of the Crimson-fronted Barbet. This species can be told apart from the Coppersmith Barbet by the crimson face and throat. My very first shots of this not so common bird. 2 March 2010. Author: Sandeep. This file is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.0 Germany license.
