Description: Lombardy’s Crespi d'Adda, located in Capriate San Gervasio, showcases an exceptional example of the 19th- and early 20th-century 'company towns' that enlightened industrialists built around Europe and North America to meet the needs of workers. Presently, the site is still quite intact; it is partially utilized for industrial purposes, though the current shifting economic and social conditions threaten its continued existence. --WHMNet paraphrase from the description at WHC Site, where additional information is available.
