Description: Mount Nimba, situated on the borders of Guinea, Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire, rises high above its surrounding savannah; it features densely forested slopes at the foot of grassy mountain pastures. The site houses an especially rich flora and fauna-endemic species such as the viviparous toad and chimpanzees that employ stones as tools. --WHMNet paraphrase from the description at WHC Site, where additional information is available.
Mount Nimba Strict Nature Reserve is a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site in both Guinea and Côte d'Ivoire. A further extension of the reserve in Liberia has also been proposed. The park includes significant portions of Mount Nimba, a geographically unique area with more than 200 endemic species. These species include multiple types of duikers, big cats, civets, and several types of viviparous toads. --Wikipedia. Text is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.
